History of the School:
The Columbia County Christian School (CCCS) opened for classes in the fall of 1999. The school came into existence after a group of parents in Columbia County sought to open a non-denominational Christian School that would provide their children with a faith-based education. Their goal was to create a learning environment that would combine comprehensive academics with Christian character development. The founding board members were: Dr. Robert Lowe, Mr. Randy Peters, Mr. Dean Fry and Mr. David Broadt.
Other private Christian Schools in the area are affiliated with a specific denomination or individual church, whereas CCCS partners with parents of all Christian denominations. Families from more than 100 churches have enrolled their students at CCCS since its inception. The school provides a complete academic program for students in grades K-12. It also offers daycare services for children up to age 4, including infants. Additional benefits include elementary basketball, as well as middle school and varsity soccer, basketball and track for both boys and girls. The drama program at the school produces popular spring musicals each year.
The Columbia County Christian Learning Center (CCCLC) is a ministry of CCCS. The Learning Center, as an extension of the School, provides high quality childcare and early childhood education in a Christian environment. They offer all-day childcare, along with a before-and-after school programs for students ranging from Kindergarten through age 12. The Learning Center currently has a Keystone Two-Star rating and is in the process of upgrading to a Three-Star rating.
